John Landis

The collector series includes custom, functional furniture created as one of a kind art pieces. By highlighting woods natural grains, colors, and tones in panels and table tops, a piece of furniture becomes a canvas. Underlying the visual beauty is solid wood joinery and the highest level of construction. We employ mortise and tenon dovetail  slip joint joinery in casework and angled tenons and bridle joints in chairs, often highlighting the joinery as a point of design. My designs center around using proportion, joinery, and designing negative spaces.
