Daniel Gugnoni

The beginnings of my work in art furniture was born in a sculpture studio over thirty years ago. I continue to explore the relationship of form and function and how it blends with my artistic vision as I create pieces of art furniture. My journey from sculpture studio to artisan has ultimately shaped each piece of functional art I create. For over thirty years, my work has been guided by the inspiration I find in the natural world and by the legacy of craft in all mediums throughout the ages. The marriage of the perfect board found at the right time guides the creation of each piece. I consider every board a gift from nature, not to be squandered, and feel a responsibility to use the material in the best way possible.
