About Laura Fortune
Finding humor in Americana, the mundane and sometimes obnoxious has always been compelling, as well as the process of building an illustration with cloisonne enamel. My work is nostalgia in fine craft. Professional wrestling, a diner counter, and lawn chairs in the backyard next to a barbecue grill, all tug at memories from various generations. It is a collective feeling presented in the unexpected manner of glass enamel. I enjoy creating playful and upscaled versions of nostalgic imagery.
