About Kim Edwards
I have been a glass artist since 2003. While I have always loved art in all its forms, from the first moment I worked with molten glass, I knew I was hooked. Every time I turn on a torch, I learn something new. It is this endless variety that I find so fascinating, and many days this very variety will lead me down a new path to a color or shape I had never thought to try before. Since 2009, I have been creating glass chainmaille jewelry using borosilicate glass. Each link is hand formed in the flame and is in turn attached to other rings. The rings are closed individually in the flame and the entire piece is then annealed. I have become captivated by this technique and the idea that by shaping and joining glass in a non-traditional fashion, a traditionally stable and fixed medium can be changed into one that is both flexible and fluid.
