About Sara Giordano
My work is about parameters and limits; a repetitive design sense driven by form and function. I gravitate towards things that are minimal, clean, and easy to line up. I create simplistic looking pieces that follow a line of movement, either visual or kinetic, and resolve themselves in the interesting intersections of planes and fixed points. Many of my pieces have a built-in tactile component that is meant to be played with, whether that be spinning, sliding, or rotating. I find it comforting to fidget with things, so I made jewelry for that purpose. I work in hand fabricated sterling and fine silver sheet and wire with a focus on score folding along with semi-precious stones.
