About Yael Braha
Craft meets interior design, meets art: I create one-of-a-kind minimalist ceramic design objects for everyday use with bold and stylized surface patterns, tessellations, optical and geometrical illusions. Utilizing my background as a graphic designer, filmmaker and sculptor, I blend inspirations from my eclectic, multi-ethnic upbringing with traditional crafts and a modern aesthetic.
Inspired by the Gestalt Theory of Visual Perception, which suggests that the mind seeks order and logic in what the eyes see, I design abstract patterns to foster a dialogue between form and surface. Through the use of lines, curves, seams, and negative spaces, I distort and add dynamism to the surfaces of the work, seeking a balance between addition, subtraction, and movement.
The result is a collection of unique, handcrafted design objects. No two are alike, each showcasing its distinct individuality, edginess, and timelessness, unapologetically making a bold statement in any home or collection.
