Kim Breit

I create 3-dimensional sustainable paper sculptures focusing on our threatened environment. A sculpture begins with my botanical library. Images of classic and rare botanicals, fauna, and insects are copied onto photo paper. Elements are hand-cut with scissors and craft knife, creating a composition that is glued into the recycled cardboard structure. The sculpture is mounted onto a mat and is displayed in a shadow box with museum glass. Each one is a unique walk in the woods.
