Gina Pannorfi

I use the traditional resist method of wax batik to explore surface-pattern and design. Through mark-making, painting, and improvisation I create a collection of one of a kind textiles for the body. I use brushes to hand-paint hot wax on to the surface of fabric, building layers of wax and dye until the painting is complete.  Through color- blocking, hand-dying, hand-sewing, and other slow fashion processes I transform this one a kind yardage into small capsule collections of wearable art.
