Michael Earley

My work explores the intersection of form and illusion through the medium of wood. By weaving together traditional woodturning techniques with an imaginative approach,  I create pieces that play with perception, inviting viewers to question what they see. My designs are often inspired by nature; the feathers of a peacock or scales of an exotic fish are transformed into precise mathematical patterns that complement the form of each hand-turned wooden vessel. Embellishments with pyrography and India Ink blur the lines between craftsmanship and illusion, creating works that provoke curiosity and inspire wonder in the simplest of forms.
