About So Young Park

This work utilizes a crochet technique in metal craft  employing a crochet hook to weave metal wire stitch by stitch  gradually shaping the form. It begins with a single crochet loop made from thin metal wire. As more loops interconnect and intertwine  they build upon one another  layer by layer  ultimately forming a solid three-dimensional structure. The message I aim to convey through this work is that while a single cell may seem insignificant on its own  when multiplied by the tens of thousands  they collectively form skin  muscles  and bones  ultimately giving rise to a magnificent living organism. Each crochet stitch can be likened to a single cell  and as the number of stitches increases exponentially  the evolving object mirrors the journey from a single cell to the birth of a great life form.
