About Carol Snyder

My work comes from the ceramic craft tradition of wheel thrown vessels which most often brings to mind comfort and familiarity as their original intent has always been to hold food or drink. My vessels move beyond what we perceive as a domestic object to one that speaks of aesthetic of form and my interest in patterns and textures of the landscape.  I condense and abstract these experiences so that the work becomes less representational. My work is not about a process or a glaze; they express a sense of quiet balance and ties with the natural world.
