Batik is the technique of using wax and fabric dye to create patterns and designs on fabric. It is a traditional craft handed down from generations of Eastern crafters and its use can be traced back to over 1,500 years ago. This demo will show viewers how I use the batik process to create lines, marks, and block out areas on silk. I'll also show my silk paint application methods and illustrate how I use wax to control paint on fabric.
