C.T. Whitehouse

Port Washington, WI

The intent of my work is to express the nature and beauty of forms in bronze. From my original designs in wax, molds are made and each form is recreated in bronze poured at 2,000 degrees. When broken from the mold, the raw form is chased, then hand sanded in preparation for patina. The unique coloring of the bronze is the oxidation of the metal and is created by applying various chemicals in combination with heat. The rims are polished. Wax brings out a warm glow and protects the finish.
