About Emilie Pritchard
I create minimalist, structural jewelry with a strong mathematical base. I cut tubes of sterling silver in various lengths, as needed, and I oxidize them. I then join them with a needle and high-tech thread to build open geometric structures which become jewelry. Often I incorporate tubes of 14 kt gold or gold fill to highlight the geometry of the pieces. No soldering is used. As a result, the pieces maintain their shape, while having more movement than similar soldered pieces. My goal is to create pieces that are big and volumetric while at the same time minimalist, open, light and very wearable.
