Lately, I have been experimenting with the leaven ceramics technique, popular in Vilnius in the Middle Ages. This technology is different because the fully heated vessel is immersed in specially prepared leaven while it is still steaming. The leaven may be made of wheat, rye, pea flour or oatmeal, or of beet or cabbage juice. This technology is eco-friendly and chemical-free. Items made using it will never be identical. The patterns on them, like frost on a window, are always unique.
