About Scott Oxenhandler
My pieces are one of a kind works of art. Inspiration comes from simple objects encountered in day-to-day life. I admire designers like Sam Maloof, Hans Wegner and other mid-century modern and minimalist artists. Blending different styles and designs leads to constantly evolving techniques and methods of building. The end results are unique one-of-a-kind compositions at the highest level of craft. My goal is to keep the observer’s eye constantly moving, thereby creating ergonomically seamless and functional pieces of art. These explore the concepts of both material and gravity, utilizing soft and hard curves, lines and surfaces. Pieces are built one at a time and customized to client specifications.
