Nicole Alfieri

Montgomery Village, MD

Nicole Alfieri is the owner/designer of Pico Vela. A native of Washington DC, she attended Parsons School of Design in NYC and Paris. She has worked in New York as well as Italy and has travelled all over the world. She is inspired by the magnificent colors of Italy and India and Japanese design. Our mission at Pico Vela is to create knitwear that is modern, unique, colorful and beautiful. Each piece is made on a hand loom and is tagged with the name of the knitter who made it. We celebrate the creativity, spirit and individuality of women and strive to make knitwear that makes each woman feel beautiful. Pico Vela sweaters are made with our own proprietary blends of bamboo, cotton, linen, and viscose yarns. With each yarn combination, we are trying to achieve a specific drape and color shade for that particular style, while taking advantage of the natural unpredictability of what happens to color and yarn as it moves through the machine during the knitting process.
