Shelley Jones

Richmond, VA

I have always been a maker. I relish the freedom I have to explore techniques, media, texture and color. Over time I have focused on making decorative objects and jewelry, favoring color and playfulness in my creations. I have experimented in various media, moving from silversmithing to working with wire, then beads. I’ve added felt and fine silver to my repertoire and make small vessels and sculptural work as well as jewelry. The subtlety of felt allows me to make bold, colorful pieces, without the sense of weight that beads and metal alone often produce.
