Updating the timeless art of hand-woven rugs, I design and create one-of-a-kind contemporary floor coverings and wall pieces using new fabrics and leathers. Although the core technique remains unchanged, I have developed a modern weaving style. My rugs are woven with 100% cotton yarn and fabric or leather strips in a fresh palette of colors on 5’ wide looms creating vibrant and durable floor coverings. The log cabin technique highlights the interplay between yarn and fabric in unique shadow blocks while the double block weave emphasizes a geometric relationship between color fields. I am especially drawn to the textural & visual aspects of the weaving process and the discovery of endless possibilities created by the intersection of warp & weft.
