I like to play with the material as I work, to discover its limits and see how far I can push it, to allow the piece to take me to the final result. Surrendering some control means to trust the process, and this is a crucial part of my working method. When knitting my pieces, I employ my single wire line to form the volume of a sculptural mass; the mass is metal but it is not rigid, it is flexible. Perhaps the piece has a utilitarian use, or perhaps that aspect is secondary to the piece as I have conceived it.
