Zhenwei Chu

Rochester, NY

Zhenwei Chu (Carisa) is a Chinese contemporary jewelry designer/maker and sculptor who is currently based in Rochester, but also learned her craft in Shanghai and Birmingham, U.K. Carisa uses comprehensive materials to create meaningful contemporary jewelry that tells narrative. She explores new technique of making resin and each mold is a one-off that produces the unique piece. These geometric resin pieces are like small spaces inside of humans; the wearer or viewer of my collection is invited to consider the emotion personally that these pieces evoke.
