Barbara Heinrich

My jewelry pieces are contemporary and classical at the same time. Some of my inspirations come from the botanical world, some from architecture. I instill a delicate sense of proportion, form and color in each piece to achieve a sense of timeless beauty. This collection of hand fabricated jewelry is very light and three dimensional. The lines of the pieces describe shapes with negative space and are direct translations of my drawings into the dimension of jewelry. Line drawings are the way I usually capture my ideas and concepts at first. I use matted gold surfaces and burnished edges combined with the masterful use of various ancient goldsmithing techniques to achieve the rich textures and gold color in my work.
