I look to achieve a sense of movement in my wearable sculptures by reconstructing metal surfaces, experimenting with contrasts and shifting balance points. This has become an integral part of my jewelry style. My aesthetic philosophy is anchored in real feelings and raw emotion expressed thru dynamic forms and carved into metal. Before pursuing jewelry media, I was a ceramics artist and sculptor. I channeled my skills into jewelry through carving, casting and smithing. Complexity of edges, textures and mixed materials always intrigued me, and working with gold and silver allows me to explore three-dimensional forms.
