I have an experimental approach to my work and I enjoy both working on the wheel and hand building. My thrown pieces are minimalist in form. The rawness of the clay body is an important element of these pieces and I mix stoneware clay bodies to get different color variations. The round bottom vessels are thrown upside down and the opening on the tops are trimmed into what would be the base. Glaze is applied to the inside. In contrast to the rustic heaviness of my thrown pieces, there is an organic lightness to my coil earth vessels.
